Examiner Freddie Mac McLean, VA At Freddie Mac, you’ll play a key role in our nation’s economy as you make home possible. A vital component in the secondary mortgage market, Freddie Mac has made home ownership and rental housing more accessible and affordable for more than 50 million families across America. As an Examiner, you’ll be responsible for conducting post-close file reviews of Freddie Mac’s customers in coordination with the Making Home Affordable – Compliance division. You’ll also minimize institutional-related losses (e.g. production, underwriting, quality control, secondary marketing, servicing, and investor reporting) by identifying control problems and weaknesses. Chief functions include: • Review closed loan files • Monitor files for quality control and quality assurance issues • Assist with the preparation of audit reports for distribution to senior management and customers • Assisting customers and internal departments in resolving outstanding risk issues Our ideal candidate… …has 5+ years’ mortgage banking experience, as well as: • Experience with quality assurance and quality control, non-performing loans, audit, fraud, loss mitigation, compliance, and mortgage services • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, or related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience) • Auditing experience in the financial services or mortgage banking industry is preferred • Some travel may be required; less than 25% Conditions of Employment: This position is only available to U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents, absent approval from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
