The CIO will direct, plan, organize and control all activities of the IT department and ensure the effective, efficient, and secure operation of all automated data processing systems.

 Parkway Consulting is a human resources consulting firm founded in 1985 and specializing in the financial services industry with asset classes in futures, options, securities, proprietary trading, venture capitalists and exchanges.  Our client is looking for a:

CHIEF INFORMATION OFFICER

Prominent Chicago bank-owned international futures and options clearing brokerage firm is looking for an experienced Chief Information Officer.  The CIO will direct, plan, organize and control all activities of the IT department and ensure the effective, efficient, and secure operation of all automated data processing systems.  This includes defining and solving customer requirements (both internal business as external client), as well as the support and maintenance of existing applications and development of new technical solutions.  Responsibilities include maximizing the effectiveness of data collection, processing and reporting. 

As a member of the senior management team, this person will provide vision and leadership, participate in planning corporate growth, and coordinate a strategic plan for the development of information systems. 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for strategic direction, as well as the day-to-day management of the IT department

• Implements the global policies and direction

• Manages IT budget and controls expenses

• Manages and is in control of all assets (hardware, software, licenses)

• Hires, trains, develops, and appraises staff effectively.  Responsible for a  department of 30, with 4 direct reports

• Responsible for proper implementation of vendor management

• Responsible for implementation and monitoring of business continuity and information security processes and procedures

• Responsible for support of group global network during US hours.   

• Maintenance of automated trading strategies and systems, and development

• Project management

Education:     

• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field

• Graduate Degree preferable

Experience:

• Minimum of 15 years experience in Information Technology

• Background in management of IT development and IT operations department

• Background in the financial industry, preferably on the clearing side

• Experience in implementation and monitoring of key IT servicing policies and procedures

• Knowledge of Data Centers and Market Connectivity a plus

• Understanding of Project Management processes

• Global experience/perspective
