Operational Analyst, Hedge Funds

Our client, a well established international investment advisory firm dedicated to hedge funds, is looking to accommodate growth and is expanding its team based in Toronto and as a result, is looking to hire an Operational Analyst, Hedge Funds.

The role of Operational Analyst is set to evaluate Hedge Fund Managers according to their trading strategies, personnel, risk procedures and other key criteria. To perform these complex analyses, he/she will perform a variety of evaluations as well as interview managers on-site to analyze, evaluate and monitor their mid and back offices resources and processes. He/she will also review offering documents and financial statements and will conduct service provider checks. This research will culminate in the preparation of written reports detailing his/her specific findings and assigning explicit ratings.

The Operational Analyst is expected to stay abreast of on-going developments with "his/her" managers and to contribute to the development of the company's due diligence practices and supporting its business development. The incumbent is also required to represent the company at internal and industry related events.

Requirements / Qualifications:

If you have several years of relevant practical experience in fund administration, prime brokerage, and/or accounting/auditing, and are looking to springboard that expertise in an innovative, exciting role where you'll be encouraged to offer your insights and influence the financial services sector with your research - this is a terrific opportunity for you! 

Your broad experience in a leadership / influential capacity in various facets of investment operations and your familiarity with hedge funds and various securities is ideally supported by your demonstrated expertise in Fund Accounting and/or operations as well as to your successful qualification as a Chartered Accountant, Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA).
